Though not happening this weekend, two important days are coming up just following the weekend.
On Monday January 19th, the country celebrates Martin Luther King Jr. Day. I am learning that this day is of special significance to Seattle, as our county is named after Dr. King.
Beginning at noon on the 19th, Seattle Center honors Dr. King's memory with a full afternoon of entertainment, awards and activities. The festivities are set to take place at the Center House in Seattle Center, 305 Harrison Street. In addition, many consider MLK Day a day of service/call to action, which may be used to take an interest in improving one's community or getting involved in human rights. January 20th marks the day many of us have been waiting for since November 4th. There are several arena of which I am aware that will be holding Presidential Inauguration viewing events:
