This Weekend...

Beginning tonight, the Pacific Northwest Ballet presents Kent Stowell's Swan Lake. Swan Lake tells the story of the impossible love between a prince and a beautiful young woman who has been cursed to take the form of a swan. Tickets range from $25.00 up to $155.00. Performances run through April 19th at McCaw Hall.

Tomorrow night at the Seattle Central Library, MAD Magazine's Joe Raiola will speak on the "Joys of Censorship" (only a slightly sarcastic title). Raiola will discuss various hot First Amendment issues and touch upon the history of MAD Magazine and comic book censorship. The event begins Friday at 7:00 pm in the Microsoft Auditorium at 1000 1st Avenue.

On Monday, mountaineer Peter Athans shares his experiences in National Geographic Live! The Secrets of Shangri-La at Benaroya Hall. Athans will discuss his recent exploration of the Himalayan kingdom of Mustang and his uncovery of a 55 panel mural dating from the 13th century which is helping historians understand the spread of Buddhism. The event begins at 7:30 pm. Tickets start at $20.00.

It's a great city; it reminds me so much of NY. I have seen Anthony Bourdain's show a couple of times but never that episode. I will have to see if I can catch it:)
